One of my best posts. If there was a niche for this in the blogosphere, and I had a blog for it, this article would pull in so many readers it would be beyond belief. I would gain 50 new Feedburner subscribers a day from it!!!

This link was posted on the EUSWX board today, and I, Jebman, continue to worship the coming Ice Age with ZERO concern for anything or anyone that any Ice Age affects.

All I care about is my snow and severe cold. I am selfish, and I will never, ever change.

I want the Gulf Stream to shut down forever. I want average winter temps in Washington DC to fall 20 degrees Fahrenheit in 5 to 10 years.

I want my snow, I demand my winter jebwalks and I shall obsess over 1970s and 1980s music while the Ice Age develops.

I love snow and cold to the utter exclusion of everything and everyone else, and I offer no apologies for this. That will be my final answer in the matter.

A New Ice Age: The Day After Tomorrow?

http://discovermagazine.com/2004/may/a-new...-after-tomorrow

It is with much joy and fanfare that I announce this jewel of a new report I found while browsing the news today:

Arctic sea ice 'lowest in recorded history': scientists

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070810/ts_al...rcticwarmingice

Much Arctic sea ice is melting, and all the fresh water will cause the Gulf Stream to stop flowing, which will result in the much awaited Little Ice Age of the 21st century. I will finally get my snow and cold weather.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON DC

935 PM EDT FRI AUG 24 2007

.SYNOPSIS...

HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS WILL COVER THE MID ATLANTIC OVER THE

WEEKEND. A RISK OF THUNDERSTORMS IS EXPECTED MAINLY DURING THE

AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. A COLD FRONT WILL

MOVE THROUGH THE MID ATLANTIC AND STALL OVER SOUTHERN VIRGINIA ON

SUNDAY. HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD BY THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK WHILE

ANOTHER COLD FRONT IS LIKELY BE WEEKS END.

&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM SATURDAY MORNING/...

IN A POOL OF MODERATE TO HIGH INSTABILITY (LAPS CAPES 3K TO 5K

J/KG) AND HIGH MOISTURE...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED NEAR

THE HIGHER TERRAIN WEST OF THE BLUE RIDGE THIS AFTERNOON. HIGH

CAPE ENVIRONMENT WAS ABLE TO SUPPORT A FEW INTENSE SEVERE

UPDRAFTS...LEADING TO SOME WIND DAMAGE AND HAIL.

WITH THE LOSS OF DAYTIME HEATING...CAPE IS EXHIBITING A DECREASING

TREND AND STORMS HAVE GENERALLY DISSIPATED AS THEY WERE SOLELY A

FUNCTION OF AFTERNOON HEATING/INSTABILITY EFFECTS (UNLIKE

LINGERING CONVECTION OVER THE GREAT LAKES/OHIO VALLEY).

MID/HIGH CLOUDS FROM REMNANT CONVECTION WILL THIN OUT AND MOVE

EAST OVERNIGHT. WITH SCATTERED CLOUDS AT MOST...EXPECT

PATCHES/AREAS OF FOG TO FORM OVERNIGHT. LOWEST VSBYS WILL OCCUR IN

THE SHENANDOAH VALLEY AREA...WHICH IS NOT ONLY CLIMATOLOGICALLY

FAVORED BUT ALSO RECEIVED SOME RAINFALL.

&&

.SHORT TERM /6 AM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH 6 PM SATURDAY/...

ITS HARD TO IGNORE THE INCREASED HUMIDITY FEEL TO THE AIR OUTSIDE.

DATA SUPPORTS THIS...WITH OBSERVATIONS SHOWING DEWPOINTS WELL

ABOVE 70 DEG F...AND THE 00Z KIAD RAOB INDICATING A PRECIPITABLE

WATER OF 2.00 INCHES. THIS MOISTURE WILL BE IN PLACE ON SATURDAY.

MOREOVER...SUCH DEWPOINTS AND PLENTY OF HEATING DURING THE MORNING

AND EARLY AFTERNOON WILL ALLOW FOR AT LEAST MODERATE LEVELS OF

CAPE TO FORM DURING THE AFTERNOON. THE ONE PROBLEM FOR CONVECTION

IS SOME WARMER AIR IN THE MID LEVELS THAT MAY INITIALLY CAP THE

ATMOSPHERE. HOWEVER...BELIEVE THIS CAP WILL BE ABLE TO BE ERODED

BY LATE AFTERNOON/EVENING...AND PER 12/18Z NAM

GUIDANCE...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP. IF A LEE TROUGH

IS IN PLACE...THIS WILL HELP TO FOCUS CONVECTION...AS IT

PROPAGATES TO THE EAST THROUGH THE EVENING. A FEW OF THESE

THUNDERSTORMS MAY BE SEVERE. THEREFORE...HAVE INCLUDED/INCREASED

POPS FOR SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING AND ALSO ADDED A LITTLE

DETAIL IN THE OUTLOOK" onClick="return popup(this, 'notes');">HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK. IN ADDITION TO THE SEVERE

RISK...THERE WILL BE A HEAT RISK AS TEMPERATURES AND HUMIDITY

WILL COMBINE TO PRODUCE HEAT INDEX VALUES UP TO 105 EAST OF THE

MOUNTAINS. THE NPW WAS RE-SENT TO CONTINUE THE HEAT ADVISORY.

&&

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...

500MB TROUGH OVER THE MID MISSISSIPPI VALLEY WILL CREEP EASTWARD

THROUGH SUNDAY...AND SHEAR OUT BY MONDAY OVER THE CWFA. NEARLY ZONAL

FLOW ALOFT WILL PREVAIL THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK AS A LARGE RIDGE

OF HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS ANCHORED OVER THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE

COUNTRY. THE CWFA WILL BE ON THE NORTHERN PERIPHERY OF THE RIDGE.

LEE TROUGH IS SITUATED OVER THE EASTERN HALF OF THE CWFA SATURDAY

NIGHT. THE ACTUAL COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH DURING THE DAY ON

SUNDAY AND STALL OVER SOUTHERN VIRGINIA. SEVERAL WAVES OF LOW

PRESSURE ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ALONG THE FRONT...KEEPING RAIN

CHANCES IN THE FORECAST THROUGH THE FIRST PART OF THE WEEK. HIGH

PRESSURE WEDGES DOWN ALONG THE MTNS FOR WEDNESDAY...WHILE A COLD

FRONT COMES THROUGH ON THURSDAY. HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN FOR

FRIDAY.

STUCK FAIRLY CLOSE TO THE SREF VALUES FOR POPS SATURDAY NIGHT AND

SLIGHTLY BELOW FOR SUNDAY. THE GFS IS HINTING AT SOME MCS TYPE

FEATURES DIVING SE IN THE FLOW THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT. HAVE KEPT IN

PRECIP FOR THE OVERNIGHT PERIODS SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY NIGHT.

&&

.AVIATION /01Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...

FOG WILL BE THE PRIMARY TAF IMPACT FOR MOST OF THE VALID TAF

PERIOD. EXPECT EARLY MORNING MVFR VSBY RESTRICTIONS AT

KDCA...WITH IFR VSBY RESTRICTIONS AT REMAINING TAF SITES. MAY EVEN

HAVE BRIEF LIFR VSBYS AT KCHO AND KMRB. UNLIKE RECENT DAYS...FOG

RESTRICTIONS WILL IMPROVE TO VFR BY MID MORNING. NEXT FOCUS WILL

BE THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL. AGREE WITH THE NAM IN SCATTERED

THUNDERSTORMS DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

CIGS/VSBYS WILL BE IMPACTED ON SUNDAY AS THE COLD FRONT MOVES SOUTH

OVER THE MID ATLANTIC. DEPENDING ON HOW FAR SOUTH THE FRONT MAKES

IT...ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE LIKELY THROUGH

TUESDAY.

&&

.MARINE...

SOUTHERLY FLOW IS ESTABLISHING ITSELF ACROSS THE BAY THIS EVENING.

WINDS SHOULD BE CAPPED AT 15 KT OVERNIGHT...BUT THERE IS SOME

EVIDENCE THAT WINDS MAY INCREASE INTO MARGINAL SMALL CRAFT

ADVISORY CRITERIA LATER SATURDAY AND SATURDAY EVENING. IN

ADDITION...SATURDAY EVENING THUNDERSTORMS WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL

TO PRODUCE GUSTY WINDS OVER THE MARINE WATERS THAT THEY EFFECT.

COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH THE WATERS SUNDAY. SURGE BEHIND THE FRONT

IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH FOR MUCH SMALL CRAFT CONCERN. HIGH PRESSURE

BUILDS IN FOR THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

&&

.CLIMATE...

THE RECENT COOL SPELL:

THE PAST FEW DAYS HAS BEEN QUITE COOL. TEMPERATURES WERE MORE

SIMILAR TO THE BEGINNING OF OCTOBER THAN MID AUGUST. AT WASHINGTON

REAGAN NATIONAL...KDCA...THE TEMPERATURE" onClick="return popup(this, 'notes');">MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE DID NOT GET ABOVE

75 DEGREES FOR THREE DAYS IN A ROW FROM AUGUST 20TH THROUGH THE

22ND. THE LAST TIME THERE WAS A SIMILAR STRETCH OF COOL WEATHER WAS

IN 1992 DURING THE PERIOD AUGUST 15TH THROUGH THE 17TH.

AT BALTIMORE/WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL...KBWI...AN EVEN LONGER

STRETCH HAS OCCURRED THIS MONTH WHEN THE MAX TEMPERATURE DID NOT

EXCEED 75 DEGREES FOR FIVE CONSECUTIVE DAYS...AUGUST 19TH THROUGH

THE 23RD. THE LAST TIME A SIMILAR STRETCH OCCURRED WAS IN 1940 WHEN

TEMPERATURES REMAINED BELOW 75 DEGREES FROM THE 24TH THROUGH THE

29TH.

THE COOL STREAK IS OVER...AS TEMPERATURES FRIDAY JUMPED WELL INTO

THE 80S TO AROUND 90 DURING THE AFTERNOON...AND A RETURN TO MUCH

ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES IS EXPECTED FOR THIS WEEKEND.

I saw where ontario squalls made this comment over at EUSWX on Oct 26.

http://www.easternuswx.com/bb/index.php?s=...t&p=2195556

I had a dream last night and I was so excited I woke up. It went like this.

November and Dec were very warm with high temps in the 50s most everyday. Then a large disturbance parked over the lakes just before Christmas and high temps dropped into the single digits for 5 days. The local Met said that the areas that got 150 inches last FEB would probably exceed those amounts over the next 5 days. He likened it to a Mag 9 quake in Calif.

I have posted this here where I know I can find it come Late Dec when the Great Lakes get CRUSHED, PWNED and ANNIHILATED by serious LES.

My computer runs Vista great but it still only scores a 4.8 out of 10 on "Windows Vista Experience" Rating

...so you should probably get a new computer.

Make sure you have at least 2GB of ram at 800+MHz

An 8 series graphics card that supports DX10

and a Core 2 Duo or better processor.
