Rain and snow in the Northeast

6:15 P.M. ET 2/14/2005

Tom Moore, Senior Meteorologist, The Weather Channel

Snow will continue through the evening and into the overnight hours from eastern New York to interior sections of New England. Snow will change to rain over parts of northeastern Pennsylvania and eastern New York. Cities in New England like Providence and Boston may see a little snow then changing quickly over to rain. Most of northern Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine will see snow for awhile. In the Far West, heavy snow warnings remain in effect for the northern Wasatch in Utah where 10-20 inches could pile up above 7000 feet. In the lower Wasatch Front valleys, 3-7 inches are forecast. A storm system off the coast of California will send waves of rain into northern and central sections of California through Tuesday. Snow will develop in the northern and central Sierra.
