From the Middle Atlantic region to southern New England, snow totals ranged from 4 to 8 inches in and around cities like Baltimore, Philadelphia, Wilmington, Newark, and New York to as much as 8 to 11 inches across costal southern New England, Boston, Cape Cod and the islands. Plowing, salting and the return of sunshine are helping to get the roads back into shape from Boston to D.C., although temperatures will stay below freezing across much of southern New England.

Meanwhile, rain has come back to the state of Florida. After what has been shaping up as quite a dry year for the state, a stalled boundary along with multiple upper-level disturbances is making for a period of showers and embedded thunderstorms up and down the peninsula. Fort Myers picked up over 2 inches of rain in just 4 hours earlier today. Conditions will dry on Saturday but more wet weather returns for the latter half of the weekend.
