Tropical development is unlikely in these areas in the immediate future. In the Indian Ocean, tropical Cyclone 02S moved past the northern tip of Madagascar on its way to Tanzania on Friday. Winds are whipping at 30 to 40 mph and are not expected to intensify before landfall. The main concern will be heavy rain and flooding in the region.
