High winds buffet Northeast

1:07 P.M. ET 12/1/2004

Buzz Bernard, Sr. Meteorologist, The Weather Channel

On the heels of a fast-moving storm system, high winds are slamming across the Northeast this afternoon. High wind warnings remain posted for a number of locations from northeastern Ohio to western New England. Gusts as high as 60 mph have hammered parts of Pennsylvania. And although the storm is primarily a rain-producer, far northern Maine is seeing heavy snow with as much as 7-11 inches likely. Snow showers and flurries are punching back into western Pennsylvania and western New York on the backside of the storm, but shouldn't amount to much.
