Only a little bit of rain and snow

3:46 P.M. ET 3:46 P.M.

Tom Moore, Sr. Meteorologist, The Weather Channel

A weak system will move across the Great Lakes region bringing snow showers with locally heavier lake-effect bands to the region. The Upper Peninsula of Michigan will be most affected with 4 to 6 inches of snow. Elsewhere, look for spots of light rain across southern Texas.

Cold air is still in place in the West and the Southwest under high pressure. Many cities had lows in the 30s and 40s which is 5 to 10 degrees below average in the Southwest. Portions of Colorado had lows ranging from 4 degrees in Denver to -28 degrees in Gunnison, which was a new record. Along with the cold air the high pressure system has also trapped moisture near the surface resulting in fog and drizzle in the valleys of the Pacific Northwest.
