Newman, Sr. Meteorologist, The Weather Channel Powerful Super Typhoon Nanmadol made landfall near "Cabanatuan" on Luzon island in the Philippines during the evening hours local time on Thursday. Major wind damage is expected there along with major flooding. It is forecast to slow and turn toward the northeast putting Taiwan in its crosshairs. In the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Otto has been downgraded to a weak low pressure system.
