Jeb
Wind-driven lake-effect snow continues 2:09 P.M. ET 12/13/2004 B. Bernard, Senior Meteorologist, The Weather Channel Winter storm or lake-effect snow warnings continue in effect for many locations this afternoon: the U. P. of Michigan (and adjacent areas of northern Wisconsin), western lower Michigan, extreme northeast Ohio, northwest Pennsylvania, southwest New York, areas in New York just southeast of Lake Ontario, and the Appalachians from southwest Pennsylvania into eastern West Virginia. Some locations on Michigan's U. P. already have been buried by almost two feet of snow. In the more persistent and heavier snow bands in the warned areas, an additional 8-10 inches could fall by tomorrow morning. The snowfall over the western U. P., however, is expected to taper off toward sunrise. In the South, busy winds are ushering in the coldest air of the season so far. Freeze warnings are posted for much of the Deep South tonight. Lows in the 20s will be widespread in areas away from the Gulf Coast.
