Jeb
Winter storm warnings southeast New England 7:55 A.M. ET 1/26/2005 B. Bernard, Sr. Meteorologist, The Weather Channel Winter storm warnings are posted for eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island and extreme northeastern Connecticut today as another snowstorm sweeps into the area. Storm totals of 3 to 6 inches are likely from southeastern New York through southern New England, but 4 to 8 inches seem more likely in the warned areas. Winds will pick up steadily as the storm strengthens south of New England, and blowing and drifting snow is likely this evening and tonight even as snowfall tapers off. Today's expected snowfall should put both Boston and Providence close to or over their monthly record snowfalls: Boston, 41.3 inches, February 1968; Providence, 37.4 inches, January 1996.
