In the Atlantic, an area of non-tropical low pressure well to the west-southwest of the Azores may organize and become subtropical as it heads northward over the next few days. Typhoon Tokage in the western Pacific, east of Luzon in the Philippines, will continue to gather strength over the next few days as it heads northwest toward Taiwan. In fact, within the next 48 to 72 hours, Tokage may attain Super Typhoon status. A tropical depression well to the east-southeast of Guam could attain minimal typhoon strength in the next few days as it heads generally westward.
