Muifa regained typhoon status Sunday morning eastern time as it was moving westward across the South China Sea toward Vietnam. Top winds have increased to 90 mph with additional strengthening possible over the next 24 hours. Muifa should continue to move westward toward Vietnam, possibly making landfall as early as Tuesday. Strong winds are possible along and to the north of the center of Muifa as it makes landfall. Flooding rainfall is also expected in Vietnam later Monday and Tuesday.

The Atlantic and eastern Pacific Basins remain quiet.
