Low pressure southwest of the Azores

9:49 a.m. ET ET Sat.,Nov.27,2004

Tim Ballisty, Meteorologist, The Weather Channel

An area of low pressure has been spinning about 1150 miles southwest of the western Azores. Over the past 24 hours, this area of low pressure has continued to build showers and thunderstorms and thus has become better organized. If it continues to organize, a subtropical or tropical cyclone may form this weekend. Otherwise, the rest of the Atlantic and Pacific tropical basins are tranquil.
