Talas to pass south of Guam

5:35 a.m. ET ET Mon.,Dec.13,2004

John Desjardins, Senior Meteorologist, The Weather Channel

Tropical Storm Talas has sustained winds of 50 mph. On its current west-northwest track, Talas will pass south of Guam within the next few hours. Given the small circulation of the storm, impacts to Guam will be minimal. In fact, tropical storm warnings that were in effect earlier for Guam have been cancelled. Talas may become a weak typhoon by midweek.
