Jeb
Another mostly quiet day for much of the country on Thursday 5:28 A.M. ET 12/16/2004 Chris Dolce, Meteorologist, The Weather Channel The Great Lakes region will see some snow showers Thursday as a clipper slides through the area. Snow amounts with the clipper will be light with accumulations around 1 to 3 inches. Behind the clipper, portions of the U.P. of Michigan and northern Lower Michigan will see some lake-effect snow beginning late in the afternoon in the U.P. and into the overnight hours. Additional accumulations could total as much as 3 to 6 inches with locally heavier amounts in favored lake-effect areas. Florida will see a slight chance of a shower on the East Coast as easterly flow around high pressure in the Southeast brings some moisture onshore. Parts of southeast Texas and western Louisiana will also see some shower activity as return flow around the same Southeast high pressure feeds some moisture into the western Gulf Coast. Rain amounts will be light in these areas. High pressure will dominate the majority of the country allowing dry conditions to rule the rest of the U.S. except for a few snow showers in New Mexico. Looking ahead, the eastern U.S. will see cold, arctic air engulfing many places this weekend. Stayed tuned for further updates as we fine tune our forecast.
